His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 7 th Cycle 84 th Birthday Anniversary
On 1 st December 2011, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate in Vilnius and members of Team Thailand held a Gala Dinner at Neringa Hotel in Vilnius from 18.30 – 21.30 hrs to commemorate His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 7 th Cycle 84 th Birthday Anniversary. There were approximately 75 guests attending this auspicious event, namely H.E. Mr. Eligijus Masiulis, Minister of Transport, H.E. Mr. Rimantas Zylius, Minister of Economics, H.E. Mr. Daumantas Lapinskas, Deputy Minister of Economics, H.E. Mr. Arturas Zuokas, Mayor of Vilnius, ambassadors, members of the diplomatic community and prominent figures from business and political sectors in Lithuania.
The event featured finest Thai cuisine, as prepared by Ms. Sangwan Horavet, the Residence’s chef to H.E. Mr. Piyawat Niyomrerks, the Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark. Moreover, there were also Thai classical dance performances from Thai community in Denmark. Such fine dining experience together with Thai cultural performances helped promoting the positive image of Thailand in Lithuania.
In addition, Thai Airways International, Copenhagen, sponsored two round trip tickets (Copenhagen-Bangkok) for winners of the lucky draw, whereas the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Stockholm prepared small gifts and souvenirs, namely Thai cook books, colorful cloth bags and CDs featuring music composed by His Majesty the King of Thailand wrapped in beautiful silk boxes to all the guests. The event was a great success.
